Over 30 Napier Harriers travelled to Taupo for the North Island Cross Country Champs in the weekend. This event caters for 10years and under up to 60 years plus.
Zara Keighley got the club off to a good start with 10th placing in the Girls 10 and under grade over 1k in 4m22s. In the Boys 10 and under Thomas Christison had another good run to finish 2nd in 3m35s with his club mate Kingston Webb gaining 5th placing in 3m52s.
Georgia Creagh ran well for 6th placing over 2k in 7m46s in the Girls 12 and under race while Bradley Christison placed 4th in the Boys 12 and under also over 2k in a good 7m21s with older brother Shamus placing 10th in the Boys 14 and under over 3k in 11m04s.
Toa Elphick-Iavtea was 9th in his 16 and under grade in 17m45s over 5k while Holly Edmonds placed 12 in the Girls 16 and under in 17m06s for 4k.
John Craven was 7th in the Mens 55-59age grade over 6k and Michelle Middleton 11th in the Womens 35 plus grade over 5k in 24m52s.
Eric Speakman placed 10th in the Mens open grade over 9k while former member, now running for Scottish Harriers in Wellington, Stefan Smith placed 4th.
Other members of the club ran solidly to cap off a good day in readiness for the Provincial Cross Country Champs to be held in Gisborne next Saturday
