What is a 'Strifflechase'?
In a 'Strifflechase', evenly selected teams compete over a multi lap course. Each team must run at the pace of their slowest runner and at the end of each lap, the slowest runner stops, leaving the remainder of the team to continue at now slightly better pace (theoretically). The last lap is run by the best runner of the team at the best pace he can still manage.
